ROBERT OSTOJIC, a Shareholder with the Firm and Chair of the firm’s large loss Subrogation Department.  With over 20 years of litigation experience, Robert focuses on complex, high value subrogation cases.  With an aggressive, yet personable, approach, he has been able to consistently achieve excellent results on difficult cases.  Robert has successfully tried cases in Federal and State courts and in various jurisdictions, including, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Virginia and Alabama.  He has also argued cases before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Illinois Supreme Court and Illinois Appellate Courts. 

In addition to his vast experience in subrogation matters, Robert has also been called upon to represent clients in first-party and third-party defense cases.  He has successfully tried to verdict multi-million dollar first-party and defense cases. 

Robert is a frequent lecturer to the insurance industry and professional organizations supporting the insurance industry.  He has spoken to insurance company personnel on various issues pertaining to subrogation handling, loss investigation and general litigation matters.  Topics have included: “First Party Claims Handling With an Eye Toward Subrogation; Spoliation of Evidence; Subrogation Recognition and Steps to Recovery; Subrogating Against Mother Nature; and Prosecuting Claims Against Careless Smokers; among other programs.

Robert has been repeatedly selected as one of Illinois’ Super Lawyers (2011 - 2022).  He is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Accounting (B.S.), and The John Marshall Law School (J.D.).
